Ron
Herardian, co-founder and Managing Partner of Global System Services Corporation
(GSS), is a leading expert on electronic messaging system architecture
and design, as well as real-world deployment, integration, and migration
of electronic messaging systems. In addition to executive duties, Mr.
Herardian is a noted author and speaker who serves as consultant consultant
on technology strategy and architecture related to messaging, directory
services, and groupware, as well as mobile and wireless solutions. Mr. Herardian's personal clients include Fortune 500 companies, vertical
industry leaders, major messaging product and service vendors, Internet
service providers, and technology startups.
In the early 1990's Mr. Herardian served as employee of cc:Mail, Inc.,
which was acquired by Lotus Development. Until its acquisition by IBM
Mr. Herardian worked with Lotus messaging products in various technical
and management roles. At Lotus Mr. Herardian worked directly with the
largest Lotus customers including Intel, U.S. West, Motorola, and GE.
Among the first GSS customers was a startup called Netscape Communications
Corporation. Mr. Herardian advised Netscape on messaging strategy and
was later called upon by Netscape and iPlanet to assist then with several
of the largest and most challenging projects in the history of the messaging
industry.
Since 1995 Mr. Herardian has worked with select GSS
clients including GE Capital, the Hearst Corporation, BMW Group, Vivendi
Universal, and AOL Time Warner. Mr. Herardian has been frequently quoted
in the press, speaks at seminars
and industry events, and participates
in industry organizations. He is the author of numerous technical
papers, articles, and books on messaging, directory services, groupware,
and wireless technology. Mr. Herardian served as Contributing Editor
for Ziff Davis' Insider newsletters from 1995 to 1997 and as Senior
Technical Editor of DominoPower
Magazine from 1997 through 1999. His recent publications include
articles in Mobile Business
Advisor and in THE VIEW as well
as contributions to the Webmaster's
Guide to the Wireless Internet published by Syngress Media (2001).
A California native, Mr. Herardian holds technical
certifications from Lotus, Microsoft, and Netscape/iPlanet (Sun ONE)
and is a member of the IEEE
Computer Society and of the Project
Management Institute (PMI). He holds a B.S. degree in Psychology
from Santa Clara University
and a master's degree from Stanford
University.
